If You Thought There Would Be A House...

So for you lovely folks here is a little update about what's going on at the moment...

I'm in the process of building a house with my girlfriend and it's taking a lot longer than was originally planned - I guess this is to be expected though. Anyway, it's been taking a lot of my time up so it's been hard  to work on anything new - but I've managed to get something together to release in July! It hasn't helped that my studio gets it's power from the new house - which has been mostly without power for the better part of three months now.

I'm really excited about the new house and a revamp of my little studio - I'm hoping to put a few pictures on here once it's done.

I've also just written an article for Chic Magazine (@chiclifemag) that's based in Sheffield. I'll pop the article on line as well for those of you who can't make it to Sheffield - which I'm guessing is probably 99% of you. I'm really pleased to have had the chance to write it and can't wait till it's printed!

Lastly I'm hoping to put a live set together over the summer and autumn months ready for winter... but there's not much more I can tell you on that at the moment. If anyone is interested in booking me then get in touch (pinemartenmusic@hotmail.co.uk or will@twotapdigital.com).

As usual, I'll leave you with a picture and a big thank you for reading.

Derbyshire...

...is really a beautiful county. If you're from the UK, I strongly suggest visiting, even for a short while.

I did an interview recently for Manchester based All.FM and was asked if my rural setting contributed to the space in my music. I hadn't really thought about it much before then, but I guess it's quite true. I'm usually inspired for two reasons, and one of which is my location. As anyone who reads this blog (hello to the few of you) will know, I wrote my first EP shortly after spending a lovely Christmas holiday near Robin Hoods Bay in Yorkshire. I owe a lot to that little cottage, it's beautiful location was one of the two catalysts for this whole project in reality.

So.. I've been rather busy lately, mostly with things like floor tiles, kitchen units and light fittings, but I've got a lot of new songs I want to work on when I get back in the studio (currently full of said items). I hope you precious few loyal readers can hold out for a little while for some fresh material, and as usual, thanks for listening / reading.

Here are some pictures taken near our new house and studio.

that's right - you can now download 'Apple Cobbler' for free (again) from my Soundcloud, after I originally uploaded it for the first time just over a year ago. Here's to many more lovely deserts in the future...

Enjoy,
